俄巴底亞所見的異象。我們從永恆主那里聽到了信息，同時有使節奉差在列國中，說︰「起來！我們起來作戰、攻擊以東吧！」論以到東說、主永恆主是這么說的（由本節第二句移此）︰

The vision of Obadiah. Thus saith the Lord GOD concerning Edom; We have heard a rumour from the LORD, and an ambassador is sent among the heathen, Arise ye, and let us rise up against her in battle.

|
「看吧，我必使你在列國中成為小的﹔你必極度被藐視。
|
|
|
Behold, I have made thee small among the heathen: thou art greatly despised.
|
|
1:3
|
你這住岩石的密洞中、建居所于高處的阿（傳統︰其居所之高度），你心里說︰『誰能將我拉下地呢？』你心中的傲慢氣把你欺騙了。
|
|
|
The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground?

|
即使你高飛如大鷹，即使你在星辰間搭窩，就是從那里、我也必將你拉下你來︰永恆主發神喻說。
|
|
|
Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the LORD.
|
|
1:5
|
賊若來到你那里，強盜若夜間來，哪有不只偷到殼為止的？然而你是怎樣被毀滅阿（此行原在上行之前）！割取葡萄的若來到你那里，哪有不剩下几粒的？
|
|
|
If thieves came to thee, if robbers by night, (how art thou cut off!) would they not have stolen till they had enough? if the grapegatherers came to thee, would they not leave some grapes?

|
然而以掃怎樣被搜尋阿！他藏的寶物怎樣被查出阿！
|
|
|
How are the things of Esau searched out! how are his hidden things sought up!
|
|
1:7
|
和你結約的人都欺騙了你，他們把你送走、到邊界﹔跟你和好的人制勝了你﹔和你一同吃飯的（傳統︰『你的飯』或譯︰『吃你飯的人』）設下網羅陷害你﹔你（傳統︰他）心里都毫無聰明。
|
|
|
All the men of thy confederacy have brought thee even to the border: the men that were at peace with thee have deceived thee, and prevailed against thee; they that eat thy bread have laid a wound under thee: there is none understanding in him.
|

|
永恆主發神喻說︰當那日、我哪有不從以東殺滅掉智慧人，從以掃山掃除了聰明呢？
|
|
|
Shall I not in that day, saith the LORD, even destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of the mount of Esau?
|
|
1:9
|
提幔哪，你的勇士必驚慌失措，以致人人都被殺戮所剪除、不在以掃山。
|
|
|
And thy mighty men, O Teman, shall be dismayed, to the end that every one of the mount of Esau may be cut off by slaughter.
|
|
1:10
|
因你對兄弟雅各所行的強暴、羞愧必籠罩著你，你也必永遠被剪除。
|
|
|
For thy violence against thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever.
|
|
1:11
|
當外族人擄掠雅各財物的日子，外人進入他城門，拈鬮要分耶路撒冷，你站在一旁那日子，你也好敵人之一阿！
|
|
|
In the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them.
|

|
當你兄弟的日子、他遭遇禍患之日，你不應該瞪著眼看著呀。當猶大人被滅的日子，你不應該因著他們而沾沾自喜呀﹔當災難的日子、你不應該夸口說大話呀。
|
|
|
But thou shouldest not have looked on the day of thy brother in the day that he became a stranger; neither shouldest thou have rejoiced over the children of Judah in the day of their destruction; neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress.
|

|
當我人民遭遇患難的日子，你不應該進他的門呀﹔當他遭遇患難的日子，你也不應該瞪著眼看他受苦呀﹔當他遭遇患難的日子，你不應該伸手搶他的財物呀。
|
|
|
Thou shouldest not have entered into the gate of my people in the day of their calamity; yea, thou shouldest not have looked on their affliction in the day of their calamity, nor have laid hands on their substance in the day of their calamity;
|
|

|
你不應該站在岔路口，剪除他們中間逃脫的人呀﹔當災難的日子、你不應該將他們殘存的人交付仇敵呀。
|
|
|
Neither shouldest thou have stood in the crossway, to cut off those of his that did escape; neither shouldest thou have delivered up those of his that did remain in the day of distress.
|
|
1:15
|
因為永恆主的日子已臨近要懲罰列國了。你怎樣行、也必怎樣向你行，你的報應必還歸你頭上。
|
|
|
For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.
|
|
1:16
|
你們猶大人怎樣在我聖山喝了苦杯，列國也必怎樣不斷地喝，邊喝邊說醉話，若無其事的樣子。
|
|
|
For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain, so shall all the heathen drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and they shall swallow down, and they shall be as though they had not been.
|
|
1:17
|
但在錫安山必有逃脫的人，那山必成為不可侵犯的﹔雅各家必占有那曾強占他們、之人的土地（改點母音翻譯的）。
|
|
|
But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions.
|
|
1:18
|
雅各家必作為大火，約瑟家必作為火焰，以掃家必像碎秸，火必將他燒著而吞滅︰以掃家必無殘存的人﹔因為永恆主說了。
|
|
|
And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the LORD hath spoken it.
|
|
1:19
|
南地之人必擁有以掃山以為業，低原的人必擁有非利士人之地﹔他們必擁有以法蓮鄉間之地，和撒瑪利亞鄉間之地﹔便雅憫人必擁有基列。
|
|
|
And they of the south shall possess the mount of Esau; and they of the plain the Philistines: and they shall possess the fields of Ephraim, and the fields of Samaria: and Benjamin shall possess Gilead.
|

1:20
|
以色列人流亡在哈臘（傳統︰這一大隊的人。今參王下17︰6譯之）的必擁有（傳統作關系代名詞）腓尼基（希伯來文︰迦南人）、直到撒勒法﹔耶路撒冷流亡在西法拉的人必擁有南地的城市。

|
And the captivity of this host of the children of Israel shall possess that of the Canaanites, even unto Zarephath; and the captivity of Jerusalem, which is in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south.

|
必有拯救者上錫安山來統治以掃山，王位就歸永恆主。
|
|
|
And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD's.
