|
你要在青年的日子想念著創造你、的主，就是在衰敗的日子還未來到，在你所說對于它毫無樂趣的那些年日還未臨近之先，
|
|
|
Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;
|
|
12:2
|
在日頭、亮光、月亮、星辰、還未黑暗，在雨后云回以前想念著主﹔
|
|
|
While the sun, or the light, or the moon, or the stars, be not darkened, nor the clouds return after the rain:
|
|
12:3
|
當那日子、看守房屋的都發抖，大有力氣的人都彎腰，推磨的因稀少、都停了工，從窗戶往外看的都昏蒙了，
|
|
|
In the day when the keepers of the house shall tremble, and the strong men shall bow themselves, and the grinders cease because they are few, and those that look out of the windows be darkened,
|
|
12:4
|
通街上的門扇都關閉著，推磨的響聲低微，一聽到鳥兒的聲音，人就起來，唱歌的音調（原文︰女子）都降低了﹔
|
|
|
And the doors shall be shut in the streets, when the sound of the grinding is low, and he shall rise up at the voice of the bird, and all the daughters of musick shall be brought low;
|
|
12:5
|
人都怕爬高，怕路上有驚慌﹔杏兒他拒絕﹔跨鳳（原文︰蚱蜢）是重擔﹔壯陽藥（原文似可譯︰續隨子）也無效﹔因為人快要到他永遠的家去，職業號啕者都在街上四圍等著﹔

|
Also when they shall be afraid of that which is high, and fears shall be in the way, and the almond tree shall flourish, and the grasshopper shall be a burden, and desire shall fail: because man goeth to his long home, and the mourners go about the streets:
|

12:6
|
你想念著主，總要在銀瀅還未折斷（傳統︰被放在遠處），金碗還未破碎，瓶子在水泉旁還未打破，滑車輪在井口還未破爛以前想念著﹔
|
|
|
Or ever the silver cord be loosed, or the golden bowl be broken, or the pitcher be broken at the fountain, or the wheel broken at the cistern.
|
|
12:7
|
不然塵土就仍回歸于地，靈就仍回歸于賜靈的上帝了。
|
|
|
Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
|
|
12:8
|
傳道人說︰虛空之虛空﹔萬事都虛空。
|
|
|
Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.
|
|
12:9
|
再者，傳道人除了做智慧師之外，他還繼續將知識教訓一切人﹔他又衡量，又考查，又編撰許多箴言。
|
|
|
And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.
|
|
12:10
|
傳道人專心尋求要得可喜悅的話，便將真實之話正正確確地寫出來（傳統︰和憑正直寫出來的真實話）。
|
|
|
The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.
|
|
12:11
|
智慧人的話好像犁刺﹔語集中的成分又像釘得牢固的釘子︰都是一個牧者所賜的。
|
|
|
The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.
|
|
12:12
|
此外還有余言，弟子阿，關于多著作書籍、無有窮盡，多孜孜研究、以至身體困乏的事、你務要受指教。
|
|
|
And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
|
|
12:13
|
言論的終結︰一切都聽見了。上帝的要敬畏﹔他的誡命你要遵守︰這就是人的一切（或譯︰這就是整個的人）。
|
|
|
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
|

12:14
|
因為人所作的一切事、上帝都必審判﹔為了一切隱藏的事，或好或壞，人人都必受審。
|
|
|
For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
